Teenager assaulted in Napaskiak

by Mark Arehart on June 4, 2012

On May 26th, Alaska State Troopers report that a 16-year-old boy was assaulted while trying to stop a Napaskiak man from attacking a woman in the village.
Troopers say the teenager, upon hearing the woman’s cries for help from a residence, attempted to break up the alleged assault by Clarence Rickteroff.
Rickteroff then allegedly punched the juvenile several times.
The juvenile left and sought help from a village health aid, but by the time they got back to the residence, Rickteroff had fled the scene.
Troopers later responded to the village and apprehended Rickteroff, who was charged with two counts of Assault in the 4th degree.
On May 27th, Rickteroff pled guilty to both counts.
Troopers say alcohol was a factor.
