A collection of Islander basketball fans are serious about winning KYUK coverage of their basketball team this season. Eight KYUK members from the coastal village pledged on Friday and Saturday pushing Toksook Bay past Kasigluk and into a sizable lead in the 2013 Village Showdown. With two days left of pledging the competition is still wide open.

Village Showdown Leaderboard
1. Toksook Bay $520
2. Kasigluk $285
3. Aniak $175
3. Nunapitchuk $175
5. Atmautluak $130
6. Mt. Village $120
6. Akiachak $120
8. Kwethluk $75
9. Akiak $70
10. Kwig $50
11. Tunt $40
11. Tuluksak $40
13. Quinhagak $25
14. Marshall $25

The rules of the KYUK Village Showdown are pretty simple. The village that pledges the most support by the end of the day on Tuesday, October the 15th, wins. That village’s high school basketball team can decide when and where they want KYUK to provide the coverage. It could be a home tournament or even an away tournament so fans back home can catch the action. The game must be in the Y/K Delta. In the event of a tie the number of individuals that pledged from each village will break the tie, with the highest winning.

Anyone who pledges is also entered into KYUK’s grand prize and weekly drawings. Plus they’ll receive KYUK’s incentive gifts depending on the level they contribute.
