Troopers Intercept Marijuana Shipment in Aniak

by Ben Matheson on June 18, 2014

Alaska State Troopers say two Holy Cross men attempted to transport nearly two pounds of marijuana from Anchorage to Holy Cross, via Aniak. An anonymous tip earlier this month launched an investigation that revealed the two people had flown 30 ounces of marijuana and some alcohol to Aniak on a scheduled flight.

Aniak troopers there seized the alcohol and marijuana. Trooper spokesperson Beth Ipsen says the two were released, but troopers forwarded their findings to the Bethel District Attorney’s office for prosecution. No charges have been filed.
