A young man from Nunapitchuk was arrested for pointing a loaded gun at the Village Public Safety Officers there.

The Alaska State Troopers report that on June 16th, the Nunapitchuk village police officers were placed in danger by 19-year old Mishael Angaiak who allegedly pointed a loaded gun at the two V-P-S-O’s, who were responding to a disturbance call at his family’s home.

Troopers went to Nunapitchuk and arrested Angaiak and charged him with two counts of Assault in the third degree. Angaiak is currently held at the State Jail here in Bethel.

In a similar incident involving a firearm, Troopers responded to Hooper Bay where four young men were reported to have vandalized, and burglarized two buildings by breaking windows and shooting the building with a rifle. Troopers say one of the juvenilles allegedly shot at another boy too. An investigation is on-going.
