Troopers Seize Liquor and Marijuana Bound for Kongiganak

troopers, alaska state troopersTroopers on Monday received a report that a woman was attempting to fly alcohol and marijuana to Kongiganak, a local option community that has banned alcohol.

The Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team contacted a 20-year-old Tuntutuliak woman, Jolene Lewis, at the airport and seized five bottles of liquor and a small amount of marijuana.

Lewis was arrested and charges were pending Tuesday.
