Truck stolen and burned in Bethel

by Angela Denning-Barnes on August 12, 2013

A truck was stolen in Bethel and later found completely burned. The 1999 blue Chevy had been left by its owners at the the Alaska Airlines parking lot, Aug. 4. The call came into the police at about 4:30 p.m.

About one hour later, the truck was found on fire in the sandpits off of the B.I.A. Road. Someone called it into police, and by then, the truck was fully engulfed in flames.

Once the fire was put out the only thing left was the metal frame.

Officers confirmed that the vehicle was the same one that had been stolen from the airport.

On Aug. 8, Bethel police received information that three juvenile males had been involved in stealing the truck and burning it. They have arrested one of the juveniles and booked him into the Bethel Youth Facility.

Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
