Investigators with the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics teams seized three packages last week containing marijuana or alcohol destined for villages in southwest Alaska.

A package bound for a woman in Chevak contained 17.7 grams of marijuana with a street value of nearly 900 dollars.

Teams intercepted a freight shipment intended for a woman in Marshall with 12 grams of marijuana worth 600 dollars and 8 bottles of alcohol with a local value of 1800 dollars. Troopers say they have identified a suspect.

Finally they stopped a package sent to a woman in Mekoryuk that contained 3 – 750 milliliter bottles of alcohol. Troopers have a suspect in this case.

Both Marshall and Merkoryuk are local option communities.
