Troopers have arrested a woman in Anchorage in connection to an attempted shipment of 10,000 dollars worth of marijuana to Emmonak. 35-year-old Melanie R. Washington was arrested Wednesday.

Troopers say that in July, they intercepted a package with seven and a half ounces of marijuana at a freight carrier, bound for Emmonak. Washington was arrested Wednesday and transported to the jail in Anchorage.

Investigators also have a warrant out for a St. Michael woman they say is a co-conspirator. The 19-year-old is Diana D. Shelikoff.

Both Shelikoff and Washington are facing two class C felonies related to controlled substance misconduct.
