Yute Air makes 2nd emergency landing

by John Active on March 7, 2013

A Yute airplane had to make an emergency landing North of Akiachak. It was the second emergency landing of a Yute aircraft made in a week.

Alaska State Troopers in Bethel report that a Yute Air Cessna 207 with two passengers on board landed on the snow covered tundra about three miles North of Akiachak on March 6.

Just a week before on February 27, another Yute Air Cessna 207, this one with five passengers on board, had to make an emergency landing about one mile West of Tuluksak.

In both incidents the pilots and passengers did not sustain any life threatening injuries. However, both aircraft ended up with damaged nose gear and propellers.

Yute Air did not immediately return requests for interview.
