An airplane crashed after takeoff in Bethel Sunday evening but no one was hurt. The plane, a Cessna 172 operated by Yute Air, crashed near Tower Road near the Veteran’s Cemetery. It was 5:23 p.m.

Yute Air in Bethel says the pilot was the only one on board and he was uninjured.

Yute’s Director of Operations in Anchorage was not in the office to give out more information when KYUK called Monday.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.
