Bethel residents will be asked to vote on increasing the city alcohol sales tax this coming fall. With Mayor Rick Robb and Vice Mayor Fred Watson voting in opposition, Ordinance 17-36 passed five to two. The measure to raise the tax from 12 percent to 15 percent will appear on the ballot in October. If passed, the added revenue would be set aside to support community action grant programs.
