Bethel resident Mary Weiss is the newest addition to Bethel City Council.
Weiss will act as council member for the next three months leading up to the Bethel's general election.
She ran against former Tuntutuliak council president Fritz Charles to fill the seat vacated by council member Chuck Herman.
KYUK spoke with Weiss to learn more about her life and ambitions.
