Bethel police and Search and Rescue volunteers are searching for Samuel Hare, age 46, whose mother reported him missing on Monday.

According to Bethel Search and Rescue President Mike Riley, Hare was last seen on Saturday afternoon at the AC Quickstop liquor store wearing a purplish, checkered jacket. His family has tried to contact him, but Hare hasn’t been answering his phone, which his mother says is unlike him. Riley added that alcohol appears to be a factor in Hare’s disappearance.

Search and Rescue workers are doing everything they can to find Hare, but Riley says that they have yet to find any good leads. BSAR has combed the trails that connect Bethel, Kasigluk, Nunapitchuk and Atmautluak, but have found no trace of him.

If you have seen Hare, or have any information about where he might be, call the Bethel Police at 907-543-3781 or Bethel Search and Rescue at 907-545-4357.
