Troopers Seek Alcohol and Sexual Assault Charges For Two Quinhagak TPO's

Bethel based state troopers say they are recommending criminal charges against two tribal police officers in the southwestern Alaska village of Quinhagak.

Dave Bendinger with KDLG in Dillingham reports the two allegedly TPOs allegedly drank confiscated bottles of alcohol at the jail, gave alcohol to an 18 and a 19 year old girl, and engaged in sexual activity with one of the females. according to an online press release from the Troopers.

Troopers say the incident ocured on May 4th, and the Violent Offender Unit in Bethel was notified about it May 5th.

Names of the two TPOs were not released. Troopers say one is to be charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor in a dry village, and another with second degree sexual assault.
